LHF HISTORY
The LHF was founded
by three members of the Leonberger Club of America’s Health, Research and
Education Committee in 2000 and became a non-profit, 501(c)(3) tax exempt,
charitable organization in 2002. Since then, Leonberger owners and members
of the Leonberger Club of America have donated over 100.000 Dollars enabling
the Foundation to support ground-breaking research on devastating diseases
that affect the Leonberger.
So far
the LHF has supported research for:
Addison's Disease
Hemangiosarcoma
Osteosarcoma
Inherited Leonberger
Polyneuropathy (ILP)
Rabies Challenge
Male Infertility
We need your on-going
support to fund more research that is vital for the Leonberger, such as
Osteosarcoma, Hemangiosarcoma, ILP (Inherited Leonberger Polyneuropathy),
Autoimmune Hypothyroiditis, Cryptorchidism and more. The results of studies
supported by the LHF benefit not only the Leonberger, but all our canine
companions and ultimately us, their humans.
