  • Access to abstracts from the Journal of the American Veterinary Association and the American Journal of Veterinary Research is available through the American Veterinary Medical Association.

  • The Morris Animal Foundation funds studies in many areas of canine health, including hip dysplasia, cancer, and genetically inherited diseases.

  • The University of Pennsylvania Hip Improvement Program, better known as PennHIP, is a method (using x-rays) of assessing the canine hip joint to determine the risk of developing hip dyplasia. The PennHIP site contacts a directory of veterinarians certified in administering the PennHIP test.

  • CERF is the Canine Eye Foundation, an organization dedicated to the elimination of heritable eye diseases in dogs. CERF maintains a database of purebred dogs that have been certified free of genetically inherited eye diseases, as well as monitoring trends in eye diseases and breed susceptibility.
